Is backup encrypted?
Backup is encrypted if you protect it with a password. Contacts, messages, calendar items, and bookmarks are always encrypted.
When creating a backup on a USB flash drive you can (optionally) protect it with a password. Backups created on external hard drives, computer drives, network drives, and in cloud storages must be password protected.
If the backup is not password-protected, the media files (music, photos, and videos) as well as documents are not encrypted.
